What is plagiarism?

Plagiarism is the act of simply copying text or content from someone else’s work and claiming it as your own. It could include claiming someone else’s work, ideas, words, images, or intellectual property without giving them credit or adding citations. Key points:

1. It involves copying text directly (like from a book, website, or another student’s work).

2. It also includes paraphrasing someone’s ideas without citing the source.

3. Using images, data, or creative work without permission or credit can also be plagiarism.

Example:

1. If you are copying a paragraph from a website into your assignment without mentioning the source = also plagiarism

2. You also choose to rewrite that paragraph in your own words but still not giving credit
